When the user is contacted by an advocate (agent) in this forward looking computer use metaphor, the screen cleaves to accept the incoming message. Conventional GUIs pre-assign specific functionality to specific elements. Instead, I am looking for a "use aesthetic"; a subtle and fluid presentation and control grammar, in which rules and structures serve only to suggest detail, and thus do not restrict solutions to what can be predetermined.
